Appearance
Yamaha YZF R15 is the best appealing and sporty bike available in India. All parts of the bike have impressive design including the front view and the rear view. The front view is ornamented by a dual headlamp which gives the appearance of an owl sitting on a branch of the tree. In the headlamp group, each headlight has smaller lights which help in sharper view. A sharp line in between has divided the twin headlamps, and this sharp line contains a V shape transparent wind screen. On both sides of the wind screen, black color rear view mirrors are fitted. This bike is available with front turn indicators which gives easy view to the rider behind the bike. It has two-piece handlebar, compact size fuel tank as well as fuel lid opener which give a stylish look to the bike. Its step up type seat gives it a sporty look. It has got toe-gear shifter and footpegs available for rider. The rear side and chain is left naked, and this bike comes equipped with stylish up swept silencer without a heat shield. Engine
Yamaha YZF R15 is power driven with liquid cooled, SOHC, 4 valve engine with 149.8cc of dislocation. The engine is well supported with forged piston and developed cylinder. These two sophisticated parts are constructed of aluminum that helps in superb heat indulgence as well as improves fuel efficiency by eliminating heat-induced engine power loss. Brakes
This bike is having disc brakes of 240mm at both its end. And in this sports bike, this is a very essential feature. This sporty rider’s friend is having 270mm single disc with dual piston calipers in the front side as well as 220 mm single disc single piston caliper on the rear side. Both the brakes systems are made from Nissin of Japan. The suspension on the front side is twin telescopic fork and that on the rear side is advanced linked type monocross suspension. The bike is available with Hydraulic single disc brakes on both front and rear side.
Suspension
This bike has delivered good performance in terms of suspensions. The linked type monocross suspension along with Deltabox frame gives a comfortable ride to both rider as well as pillion. The linked type monocross suspension consists of link mechanism squeezed in between the rear arm and cushion unit, and this will create lever ratio based on the lever effect. Lever Ratio is high when the shock absorber is fully extended, and for this spring is soft. Even the damper works softly. The lever ratio decreases when the shock absorber strokes in. When the shock absorber is fully stroked in, it makes spring really hard and strong. This change in lever ratio helps to achieve soft riding comfort.
Wheels and Tyres
The wheels of Yamaha YZF 15 is having pretty look with five spoke black alloy wheels. The front and rear tyres are 80/ 90-17 and 100/ 80-17 respectively, and the wheel base is little less than real sports bike. It comes with real wheel base of 1290 mm, and this affects the balance. This however supports in gaining fuel efficiency. Their tyres are tubeless. The broad wheel base would be better for it. This bike is most popular one in 150 cc bike segment.
