Yamaha YFZ R15 – Appearance
Designed for performance, the appearance of the bike has been dealt with great care by the designers. The front tip of the bike is pointed out in order to achieve a better aerodynamic efficiency of the bike. The under cowls are cleverly designed to achieve a cool look for the bike as well as serve as an aero controller that control the flow of air beneath the bike.

Power packed Engine of Yamaha YFZ R15
The first in its class to be released with a liquid cooled engine, the four stroke four valve engine delivers a maximum power of 17PS at 8500 rpm. The maximum torque produced by the engine is 15 Nm at a speed of 7500 rpm. Quite an energy packed engine for its compact size. The engine has a compression ratio of 10.4:1. The engines displacement is 149.8 cc.
The engine is equipped with the DiAsiL cylinder from the house of Yamaha, a proven engine for its performance characteristics. The cylinder is in fact used on the majority or the race bikes that Yamaha produces. The vibration and noise levels from the engine are considerably low due to the fact that it is a liquid cooled engine.

Brakes
A sure stop mechanism for this racer bike, both the front and back wheels are provided with a single disc brake. The rear brake disc is of a bigger diameter of 220 mm providing a larger area of braking. A single pot caliper deploys the pad on the brake disc immediately on the push of the brake lever. Holes amply provided on the brake disc cool the brake disc immediately. The holes also assist in the removal of water that tends to stick to the brake disc.
Suspension
The bike is provided with a telescopic suspension at the front a quite common feature in all the bikes. The rear side is provided with the Linked type monocross suspension. The linked type monocross suspension system of Yamaha YFZ R15 provides a soft ride to the rider. This suspension type in particular enhances the comfort of driving the vehicle and provides a better handling of the vehicle particularly at the turns.
